Founded in 2006, Montgomery Cheetah Special Hockey brings together kids of all ages with a developmental disability to teach the game of hockey and sportsmanship.
The Cheetahs skate on Saturday mornings at Cabin John Ice Rink and are led a by dedicated group of volunteer coaches who combine hockey and social skills. Our athletes are assisted by peer mentors who help guide and support each player.

7th Annual Cheetah-thon | May 5, 2018 | 3:00 - 5:00 pm | Rockville Ice Arena

The Montgomery Cheetahs will host their 7th Annual Cheetah-thon on Saturday, May 5 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at the Rockville Ice Arena. The event serves as the major fundraiser for the Cheetahs and seeks to raise $30,000 to cover costs associated with ice rental, tournament travel and more!

For the first time the event will feature a short mentor/coaches game. Come early, cheer on the mentors and coaches who work so hard to create a fun environment for Cheetah athletes to learn the game of hockey.

Come join us for an evening of skating, prizes, food, and more!  A t-shirt is available for all attendees and donors!

Cheetahs Take Part in 2018 Special Hockey Shootout!

The Washington Capital hosted teams from the American Special Hockey Association in February for the annual Special Hockey Shootout. Three Cheetah skaters took part in the amazing event. The Cheetahs would like to thanks the Washington Capitals for all they do to support Special Hockey!

Thank you to our 2017 Cheetah-thon Sponsors!

The Cheetahs would not be possible without the contributions of all our major sponsors. The Cheetahs send a big thank you to everyone who gave!
